Program Manager Job Description
Location: Hybrid (Remote and In-Person in St. Louis, MO)
Employment Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Compensation: $27,000 annually
Reports To: Executive Director
Organization Overview
The Oxygen Project: Yoga for Youth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting wellness, mindfulness, and trauma-informed yoga practices for young people in schools and community settings. Our mission is to equip youth with tools for self-regulation, resilience, and emotional well-being through accessible yoga programming.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to support the execution and management of our programs, ensuring seamless coordination between partner schools, contracted instructors, and organizational leadership. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and mission-driven professional who is passionate about youth empowerment and holistic well-being.
This is a remote-based part-time position.
Potential Travel: 30%
Supervision Exercised: Supervision of contracted youth yoga instructors and BSW and MSW Social Work practicum students.
KEY JOB COMPONENTS
Program Management & Administration
Serve as the primary point of contact for partner schools, community organizations, and yoga instructors.
Schedule and coordinate student and staff yoga sessions in collaboration with school partners.
Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and events with key partners.
Collect and analyze data to construct actionable insights and a detailed report.
Maintain accurate program records and assist in the completion of required grant reports.
Track program expenses and ensure spending aligns with program budgets.
Manage supply inventory, process supply requests, and coordinate purchasing.
Develop, track, and report program metrics to assess impact and areas for growth.
Instructor Management & Support
Assist Executive Director in recruiting, hiring, onboarding contracted youth yoga instructors.
Manage a team of contracted youth yoga instructors.
Oversee instructor scheduling, ensuring equitable distribution of teaching assignments.
Plan and facilitate meetings and learning opportunities for contracted yoga instructors.
Ensure all instructors maintain required liability insurance and appropriate background checks.
Stakeholder and Community Engagement
Cultivate relationships with advocates, community leaders, and organizational partners to strengthen programming and outreach efforts.
Serve as key point of contact for partners and collaborators involved in programming and events, ensuring open communication and alignment with goals.
Engage diverse audiences to raise awareness about The Oxygen Project’s mission and programs.
Represent The Oxygen Project in cross-organizational working groups, meetings, conferences, expos, and other events.
Data and Reporting
Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data for The Oxygen Project: Yoga for Youth’s programming.
Create detailed reports and presentations to share findings and insights with partners and funders.
Conduct program assessments and gather feedback from instructors, participants, and partners.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement based on feedback and outcomes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
At least 3 years of experience in program coordination, education, or related roles, preferably within mission-driven organizations.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and oversee logistics.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Experience navigating partner relationships and fostering community engagement.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Google Workspace, or similar platforms).
Experience building and working in Excel Spreadsheets and/or Google Sheets.
Ability to conduct research and create summaries, notes, and reports.
Ability to use Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, Canva, and Slack.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Experience facilitating group discussions, workshops, and/or events.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Experience with project management platforms such as Asana, Monday.com, etc.
Background in yoga, wellness, or holistic health programming is a plus.
